Jury awards D&G client a defense verdict
Four-year litigation ordeal ends successfully for D&G client Rupesh Patel.
May 4, 2007: A Bessemer, Alabama jury awarded a defense verdict to Rupesh Patel in a case filed in July of 2003 by a shareholder of a business operated by Rupesh. The Plaintiffs’ complaint falsely accused Rupesh of a variety of wrongful conduct, including fraud, mismanagement and misappropriation of corporate assets.
Rupesh’s long ordeal finally ended on May 4, 2007 when a jury returned a verdict in Rupesh’s favor on all of the Plaintiff’s claims against him. Rupesh was represented at trial by David Donaldson and Dawn Evans.
In addition to successfully defending Rupesh for all claims brought against him in the lawsuit, D&G assisted Rupesh’s company in a restructuring that forced the plaintiff out of the business. Today, Rupesh and the remaining shareholders are enjoying the profits of a very successful business. Joyce Baker represented Rupesh’s company in the restructuring.
