Ms. Evans' experience litigating securities cases in FINRA/NASD arbitrations and trying business cases to verdict in court has earned her an “AV” peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating given by attorneys to their peers, as well as a spot on Birmingham Magazine's list of the "Rising Stars" among Birmingham attorneys.
Ms. Evans' securities cases have involved issues ranging from municipal bond yield arbitrage strategies, to inappropriate recommendations of unsuitable securities and misleading sales practices. She has tried multiple business cases to jury verdit, involving minority shareholder disputes, allocation of profits, and business fraud.
She also represents individuals and businesses in employment litigation and advises them concerning compliance with the requirements of Title VII, §1981, §1983, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Alabama Age Discrimination Act. Ms. Evans also offers experience in reviewing and preparing employment policies and procedures, employee handbooks, and employment contracts—including non-compete agreements and trade secret agreements.
